About the event
One of the most popular models in classical yoga, offered to support the yogi’s journey towards a place of liberation is Aṣṭānga yoga, the eight limbed path. While modern yoga often highlights āsana (posture), Aṣṭānga yoga offers seven additional, equally vital limbs to explore, each contributing to a profound and holistic practice. The Yama are the first of these eight limbs and consist of five ethical guidelines or precepts concerned with behaviour, particularly in relation to how we interact with the world. In this philosophy workshop, you will be introduced to each of the five Yama and explore practical ways to integrate these ancient teachings into your daily life. Through engaging in group discussions, reflective journaling, and meditation exercises, you'll gain a deep understanding of these principles. The workshop will culminate in a guided āsana practice designed to interweave the Yama into your physical practice, seeking to cultivate a holistic and enriching experience.
