India Yoga Retreat
Goa, South India
6th - 13th January 2024
About the Retreat
India has a very special place in my heart. I've been three times so far and spent around 5 months there in total. It is where I did my first yoga teacher training, way back in 2014, at a time when I was really struggling, I spent three months in the beautiful sub-contintent, and without being too cliché it literally changed my life. India is my favourite place that I've visited so far and I cannot wait to share it's beauty, culture, culinary delights and sights with you.

This retreat will be co-lead by myself and good friend Emily Cobie. We've known eachother since 2011 when we trained as dancers at the same establishment and since both made the transition from dance to yoga.
Emily is an incredible human being and an amazing yoga teacher offering astanga, vinyasa and yin classes as well as being one of the most beautiful Kirtan leaders I've come across.
So we've come together and have curated the dreamiest retreat delving into various aspects of the yoga practice whilst also offering an opportunity to get away, reset and taste some of what India has to offer.
The Venue
Sprawling across 5 acres of lush greenery with a massive private lake, and just 200 metres from the beach, our home for the week is the perfect blend of Goa's traditional architecture with modern comforts.
Surrounded by coconut trees, mountains and the lake, the airy and natural facilities with picturesque lake-views offer an opportunity to connect with nature and will make your stay and overall experience a beautiful, nourishing and memorable one.
There are plenty of spaces at the retreat centre where you can either socialise or take some solitary time to relax in a hammock and enjoy the view of the lake, sit on your balcony and read a book or take a short stroll down to the beach, we’ve chosen this heavenly abode to provide a conducive space for those seeking peace, wellness and harmony
All the lake-facing rooms are extremely spacious with air conditioning, wifi, private bathrooms, towels and toiletries and all modern amenities. We have a combination of rooms including either a King-size bed or two single beds, so whether you’re coming on your own or with friends, sisters, brothers or lovers there will be something to suit.
You have the choice between two rooms, our Deluxe, lake-facing rooms or the Superior lake touching cottages which are larger and also have a private balcony on the lake. We have a number of each offering twin beds of doubles.

The Food
Throughout the week you will be nourished with delicious and healthy Ayurvedic dining with fresh produce and natural ingredients. In Ayurveda, food is considered just as powerful as medicine, so you can expect a lot of care, love and knowledge to go into preparing your food.
Alongside your meals, you will also be treated to daily detox beverages and herbal teas.
All meals will be vegetarian. If you are vegan, gluten free or have any other intolerances, they can be catered to.

The Yoga
While yoga āsana (the physical practice of yoga on the mat) will be a large part of the retreat, we will dive much deeper into the full practice of yoga through philosophy, mantra, pranayama, meditation and reflection.
There will be two daily yoga practices, the morning class will be more of a dynamic and energising practice combining prānāyāma, meditation and āsana followed by a more soothing and relaxing practice in the evenings.
There will also be various workshops, lectures and late night sessions including Introduction to Ayurveda, āsana lab, Kirtan and Yoga nidra.
Over the course of the week we will explore different philosophical and physical focuses in order to explore the spectrum of what yoga has to offer. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and delve into areas of personal interest.

The Wellness
Included in your retreat package, you will be treated to three, sixty minute Ayurvedic massages at our on-site Ayurvedic treatment centre, because we love you and want you to experience a key element of ayurveda as well as achieving as much relaxation as possible.
There are an array of different ayurvedic treatments on offer, should you want to explore the relaxing, healing and preventative benefits of ayurvedic care in your free time, where you can choose to indulge in as many wonderful treatments as you like. Any further treatments (after your three complimentary massages) are not included in the price of the retreat, but are all very reasonably priced and much cheaper than any treatments you’d find in Europe.
You can also book a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor during your stay for less than £10, where you will find out your dosha (you’ll learn more about that in the ayurveda lecture we’ll be offering), the kind of treatments that will be beneficial for your personal and individual needs, as well as other lifestyle recommendations that are personal to you.

The Plan
Besides structured class and meal times, the retreat will also include an opening and closing ceremony, a traditional puja, a half-day trip to two North Goa beaches and a trip to a local market.
The rest of the retreat is yours for the making and can be decided each day that you wake up on. Whether it’s chilling by the lake, indulging in ayurvedic treatments,, snuggled in one of the many spaces with your head buried in a novel or exploring the surrounding areas.
This retreat is far more than a holiday. When we break free from routine, we open up the door to discover freedom, independence, connection and transformation within ourselves. It’s the time that we dedicate to putting ourselves first, that really allows us to grow and heal, and what a perfect intention of prioritising yourself and your wellbeing to go into the new year with.
